The Home Game: Day the World Ended (2 Discs)
[HomeGame]

To help get viewers in the mood for the start of the new MST3K season, the SciFi Channel presented MST3K: The Home Game on Jan 1997 at 4 PM and 11 PM. They broadcast Day the World Ended and viewers entered their own riffs on-line, which scrolled across the bottom of the screen, in somewhat real-time. Each showing had it's own set of riffs! During commercial breaks, the cast gave interviews and Mike and Kevin took viewers on a humorous tour of the studios. These segments are compiled and included on each disc.

Time (per disc): 90 Min, including 15 min BBI segments.
Source Quality: A+

Day the World Ended (1955) Plot: After a nuclear war, an unlikely group of people (a rancher, geologist, crook and his girlfriend), find themselves trapped in the middle of nowhere while battling an ugly mutant monster. The geologist and the crook also find the time to fight over the rancher's daughter, naturally.

Danny Rayphole - 11/18/2007 4 of 5 Stars!
Excellent audio and good video quality. The cast/crew interviews make fine extras on both discs. Although it was neat to see the home viewers comments for both showings, it was just not the same w/o the riffing and hijinx of Mike and the bots and the Mads. Even so, this set would make a great addition to the hard-core MSTie in your life. Thanks again Cheepnis! PS: This movie was remade in 1967 as 'In The Year 2889, and the only redeeming quality about it was that it was filmed in color.
